Meet Angie martin lapinski

Angie started riding at San Dimas Equestrian Center in 1978. She moved to Malibu in 1982 and started riding with Markley Chaffin and Chip Mandeville. She went on to become their assistant, riding and teaching beginner lessons for them. She learned horsemanship from Chip and attended clinics from Ray Hunt and Buck Brannaman. Markley’s approach was based on classical equitation, with lots of flat work!

Angie has ridden with notable trainers and clinicians such as Francie Steinwedell-Carvin, Anne Kursinski, George Morris, Karen Healey, Victor Hugo Vidal, David Wightman, Lucy Stewart, and Leslie Steele.

In 1987 she worked at Pin Oak Farms in Kentucky, handling the two year old Thoroughbreds. In 1988 she worked on a breeding farm in Calabasas, CA starting horses and imprinting on the foals. In addition, Angie managed the english shows for Trancas Riders and Ropers in the early 90’s, and from 1989 to 1998 she trained at various barns in the Malibu area.

Then in 1998 Angie co-founded Topline Equestrian Center, a boarding and training facility in Topanga, CA; she trained hunters & jumpers for over 20 years there. In 2022 she moved her business to Cold Creek Ranch in Calabasas, where her long time client and friend owns and operates the ranch. Angie still lives in Malibu with her husband and two sons, along with her retired horses.
